Lamella Vault
A unique, moveable garden shelter
This structure showcases our creativity, design ambition and craftsmanship. It's a true example of how timber structures can be beautiful as well as functional.
A lamella roof is created by joining parallel archways to form an interlocking pattern reminiscent of repeating patterns in nature. This moveable garden shelter was originally built as a prototype lamella vaulted roof in our workshop. What started as an exercise in roof geometry came to life and evolved into a unique and versatile structure reminiscent of a traditional Romany caravan or 19th Century American prairie wagon. |
The roof comes to life when lit from below and draws people in, this space has captured the imagination wherever we’ve taken it. It has been used as a shelter, outdoor dining room, and even a small performance stage at outdoor events across the country.
It has been a pleasure for us to see this project come to life and provide a frame for creative expression and social gatherings. |
